Welcome to the Jarrettsville Manor Memorial VFW Post 8672.  We are located at 1714 Morse Road, Forest Hill, Maryland 21050.  We strive to make a difference in our local community.  We rely on the support of our membership to achieve our community service goals through promoting volunteerism.  The purpose of our Post shall be fraternal, patriotic, historical and educational: to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead, and to assist their widows and orphans; to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of America and fidelity to its constitution and laws, to foster true patriotism and to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom, and to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies whomsoever.

New members, old friends and guests are always welcome.  So stop by the Canteen and join us for a beverage, and some great conversation and make new friends.  Our general membership meetings are held at the Post on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.  Your attendance is very much needed and always appreciated.

Our Ladies Auxiliary is a very active one and both sponsor and participate in activities such as Cancer Aid and Research, the Buddy Poppy program, Patriot's Pen, Voice of Democracy, Perry Point VA Hospital, civic programs, children's Christmas party and other fund-raising events.  They participate in all the VFW programs as well.

The history of our Post began on December 17, 1960 when our Post 8672 was formed in the Jarrettsville Fire Company with 25 members.  The first commander of our Post was Ed Coscia.

In 1962 Post 8672 purchased 37 acres of land in Jarrettsville for $9,000.  Milford White laid the block for foundation.

On October 3, 1970  a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the brand new building of Jarrettsville Manor Memorial VFW Post 8672.

The first spadeful of earth was turned up by department commander Jump with the aid of Post Commander Keif.

The Post Color Guard, Henry K. Ellis, Captain, Cleaveland E. Huber, Raymond Heffernan, Emory Bell and Glenn Leslie opened the ceremonies with the Advancing of the Colors.  The Pledge of Allegience was recited.  Reverend Partee Boliek, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sweet Air, Maryland, delivered the invocation.

Guests were welcomed by post commander, Frederick N. Kief.  M.C., Edward B. Coscia, past post commander gave a short history of the post.  Special guests were introduced including fifth district commander Raymond Boyle and department quartermaster William J. McAvoy, who was installing officer at the Institution of Jarrettsville Post on December 17, 1960.  Both, in brief speeches congratulated the Post on its latest expansion.  Over the years we have continued to take pride in our Post 8672 by continuously making improvements to serve our veterans and community.

Jarrettsville Manor Memorial VFW Post 8672 has won various awards which we proudly display in our lobby!
